This workshop on Middle English lyrics, to be held at Queen Mary, University of London, on 21 February 2014, will be an opportunity to share ideas about the most illuminating ways of approaching these poems.  It’s designed as a small-scale event where most participants will also be speakers; and as a relatively informal sharing of ideas. We aim to identify some way of taking discussion into the future, perhaps by planning another meeting, or a publication, or a more formal conference.

Nine speakers will be giving short talks constructed around one lyric (we aim to circulate copies of these in advance).   The speakers are Anne Baden-Daintree (Bristol), Anne-Marie D’Arcy (Leicester), Hetta Howes (QMUL), Joel Grossman (QMUL), Natalie Jones (UCL), Ayoush Lazikani (Oxford), Denis Renevey (Lausanne), Mary Wellesley (UCL), Christiania Whitehead (Warwick.)

If you are interested in the topic and would like to attend, please contact Julia Boffey at Queen Mary, University of London (j.boffey@qmul.ac.uk).
